Task:

Redesign the website for The Community, a peer-to-peer loaning platform in Sierra Leone. The goal is to create a fully functional, modern, and user-friendly website that enhances the user experience (UX), visual appeal, and overall functionality, while ensuring the design aligns with and fits The Community's existing branding.

🔗 Website for reference: https://www.thecommunitysl.com/

Deliverables:

  • A fully redesigned website created in Figma, including:

  • Optional: New feature designs to enhance the platform’s functionality (e.g., improved loan tracking, new filtering options, etc.).

Submission Requirements:

  • The redesign must align with The Community’s existing branding (colors, fonts, logo usage, tone, etc.) to ensure consistency with their current identity.

  • The design should focus on simplicity, accessibility, and trust-building, keeping the local audience in mind.

  • Ensure the redesign addresses user pain points and reduces friction in the loan application process and other user interactions.

  • The design must be mobile-first, given the high smartphone usage in Sierra Leone.

  • Provide a clickable, interactive Figma prototype that simulates key website interactions, such as loan applications, user registration, and loan tracking.

Judging Criteria:

  • User Experience (UX): How intuitive and user-friendly is the redesigned website? Does it address pain points for both borrowers and lenders?

  • Aesthetics & Branding Consistency: How visually appealing is the design? Does it accurately reflect The Community's existing branding?

  • Functionality: Does the redesign improve key features, such as loan applications, user dashboards, and loan tracking?

  • Responsiveness: Is the design fully optimized for both desktop and mobile views?

  • Innovation and Research: Does the redesign incorporate new features or improvements based on user research and insights?
