Product
Task:
Build a simple, user-friendly one-page website for a local tailor in your area. The website should allow the tailor to display pictures of clothes they've made and provide clear contact instructions for how customers can reach out to place an order.
You must first identify and work with a real tailoring business in your community. This should not be a made-up or placeholder brand the final result is something this business can actually use.
Deliverables:
A live one-page website hosted on a free platform (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, GitHub Pages)
Website must include:
A short tutorial video (2–4 mins) explaining how the tailor can:
All copy and branding must reflect the real business you partnered with
Link to the live site, and provide the GitHub repo
Submission Requirements:
You must include the name, location, and short description of the tailoring business you supported
The website should be fully mobile-friendly
The site must be simple enough that the tailor can update it with no technical knowledge
Include the tutorial video link (YouTube, Google Drive, etc.) with clear steps in plain English or Krio
If you use a CMS (like Notion, Airtable, etc.), explain that setup too in the video
Judging Criteria:
Usability: Can the tailor actually use and update the site without external help?
Design Quality: Is the site clean, visually appealing, and mobile-friendly?
Real-World Relevance: Is it genuinely helpful for the specific tailoring business?
Tutorial Clarity: Does the video make it easy for them to learn how to use it?
Important Note:
The final product will be handed over to the real tailoring business for ongoing use. We will follow up with them to see if they’re using it, so please prioritise clarity, simplicity, and actual value.
